Our Story
Founded by Lesly Romo, Golazo began as a simple class assignment but quickly turned into something much deeper. Growing up, Lesly faced the disappointment of not being able to afford club soccer, despite her love for the sport. She poured her passion into high school soccer, where she made varsity as a freshman and fell in love with the game even more. But a challenge remained: finding people to play with. Friends often hesitated, and when she managed to get a group together, skill levels were all over the place. It made it tough to have fun, improve, or build a community around the game.
As Lesly later experienced soccer in indoor facilities, she saw the same limitations—players going in and out with little opportunity to socialize, and skill differences often intimidating newcomers. There was rarely a chance for kids and parents to connect, to bond, or for new players to feel encouraged. Soccer has always been more than just a game for her; it’s been a way to develop essential life skills, from building resilience to fostering an action-oriented mindset—qualities that translate directly into entrepreneurship and beyond.
At Golazo, Lesly wanted to create a space that broke these barriers. With soccer being the world's favorite sport, there was a unique opportunity to bring people together, unite them through the beautiful game, and immerse them in a culture that builds not only athletic skills but life skills. Through Golazo, she invites everyone to experience the joy, connection, and growth that soccer can bring, regardless of background or skill level. Because here, soccer isn’t just about playing a game; it’s about building a community that thrives on support, encouragement, and unites people through the beautiful game
